Last month I went to New York to visit a friend for her bday and wore this simple little number. I’ve been looking for a sleek, lace black slip dress like this for literally months and was so ecstatic when I found it.

I found this dress at a boutique called Kaitlyn in the USC Village. Tbh, it’s not really my normal store to shop at, but I was on campus for something and stopped by the shop just to look. They actually have some pretty cute pieces though! I love boutique shopping because sometimes they just have the exact right outfit you’re looking for, especially if you’re dressing for a specific occasion.

I especially love the lace details and trim of this dress - I think that’s what really made it for me. I styled this dress with some casual elements so that it was cute enough to stroll the streets of Williamsburg without coming off too fancy. I wore this leather vintage backpack I’m obsessed with that I got at a sample sale last month, and paired it with a messy low bun and some mid-sized heels. These Steve Maddens honestly are such a reliable stable in my wardrobe, and so comfy. Normally shoes that have this tie element aren’t the best to walk in, but these have a velvety soft texture that won’t irritate (or untie) often.
