Spill the Tea: This Month's Faves

the grove la

Hi blog fam!

Going to keep this month’s round-up pretty light, considering I’m still over here mourning my bank account after those Black Friday sales. I’m not going to lie, I shopped and treated myself to a forest green turtleneck from Vince, a leather jacket from All Saints (with the help of my lovely parents), and a shit ton of Zara shoes (my faves are these square open-toe heels and these practical black slip-on flats, oh and these other flats I’ve had my eye on forever). I put a round-up of some of the things I’ve shopped (or similar options below). It is a full on fall mood.

Shop the Look

But seriously at some point I have got to stop shopping so I’m just going to keep myself busy with blogs or podcasts until the new year lol. So, in the spirit of keeping things short, here are juust a couple of articles that caught my eye:

Art Basel Miami Beach 2019: Alessandro Michele Makes First Trip to Miami

One of these days I just have to make it out to Miami for Art Basel.. unfortunately this year was not that year. But I’m getting major FOMO on insta so this WWD article helps.

Behold: The 20 Most-Purchased Beauty Products of 2019

In case you’re obsessed with making sure your products are the BEST. I don’t even care if it’s the cheapest or most expensive thing, as long as it works. #17 is a fave, v interested in trying #10 & #16.

Lauren Santo Domingo on Her Best Outfit Ever

Such a good read, and not just because she referenced Johnny Depp & Kate Moss in their ensembles for the Cannes Festival circa 1998 (although it helps). Really well written - pieces like this are why I started reading MR in the first place. And love hearing Moda Operandi’s CBO Lauren on her view on this viral outfit. Last paragraph sticks - great styling tip!

Menswear For Women Isn’t Just A Trend — It’s About Creating A Closet That Knows No Limits

I always always tell people to shop in the men’s section. Or go thrifting. Or go too oversized. I really just like the style of this article and how it encourages embracing different things. I think a lot of people are surprised when I tell them that I have things in my closet from size 2 to XL just depending on how oversized or fitted I want the look to be.

That’s all for this month, enjoy! But pls - if you know of any good blogs send them my way. Anything to keep me from shopping haha.
